he kinda reminds me of Jack Black haha, and how many times do i have to wax my board every season? and since i got the k2 Anagram, will it be hard to wax and clean it since theres so much design on the bottom or be hard to see the wax?

If you have a sintered base than you will want to wax it when it is dry. It is also good to store your board waxed to increase the life of the plastic base material.

    When its dry.

If you get a extruded base you will not have to hardly any base maintenance, such as boards like the Burton Blunt.

does it matter when i wax my board? like say i do it now and i dont ride for like a month will i have to do it again? and how often will i have to do this?

Im new to snowboarding but i want to get into the sport. If I do light stunts or free-riding/freestyle, how many times a week/month should I get my board waxed to stay in maximum condition? Just when it’s “dry” or when?

  6. sierrasnowboard 9 December 2009 at 05:42 #

    It is not recommended.

The oils and dirt rise to the top and ends up in that wax.

can you save the wax you scraped off for another time?

no!!! Dont try this…. your only going to damage your board… WAX DOES NOT MAKE A BOARD FASTER! It is the suspended nano particles of fluoro or hydrocrabons that make it fast. And once heat is applied they go from the wax into the base. Leaving the wax useless!

  15. 75ehwtcv 9 December 2009 at 05:42 #

depends on the person…. I own 10 pairs of racing skies…..each of them is waxed before and after every single snow session to keep the bases fresh. Skies and boards that arent for racing dont have soft bases so they wont dry out. It depends on how fast you want to go but getting a couple of waxes an iron and a brush, try waxing once every 2 weeks? Or every week… But ALWAYS!!! Cover the board with a thick layer of wax when storing it over the summer!

  16. 75ehwtcv 9 December 2009 at 05:42 #

every company automatically will apply a shitty layer of wax to the board as it leaves the factory, this is PURELY to keep the base from oxidizing, the wax isnt good enough to keep the board sliding fast. What you want to do is get it hot waxed, scrapped while its still warm (to remove all the old wax) and then hotwaxed again a few minutes later (to get the most out of ur board/skies i tend to hot wax 7times so there is no factory wax left over) this will get the most out of ur boards potential!

  17. sierrasnowboard 9 December 2009 at 05:42 #

It comes with a factory wax, but it is good to do a more thorough wax once you get it home to keep you sliding fast.

@cjwalsh7 hey man depends on how hard youre riddin gand how often when ever your board starts to get battered and “dry” on the bottom then its time for a waxing

damn, i just bought a block of wax, but i guess i need to get a scraper and a brush, i didnt think there was that much to waxing!! im glad i watched this video, very helpful thank you!!

  24. newpoo90 9 December 2009 at 05:43 #

k sweet then you get to wax twice as many times (well maybe less but still)

  25. hightstownhyphy 9 December 2009 at 05:43 #

yeah, but the base absorbs the chemicals so you can use the shavings twice at max after a waxing
